Activities and sports in São Lourenço, Victoria Boulevard and Quinta do Lago

Your holiday here can be as active and varied as you choose, with Quinta do Lago offering a wide range of sports and leisure activities, catering for the whole family.

Golf

The Algarve has a total of 24 Golf Courses and Quinta do Lago boasts 4 of the most challenging, several having been used for the Portuguese Open, and the Oceanico Victoria, host of the Portugal Masters in October, both important fixtures on the European Tour Golfing Calendar. The courses range from tricky links to gently undulating courses, all surrounded by spectacular scenery and umbrella pines. The temperate climate offers the chance to play golf on the Algarve all year round.

Fishing

At the Water-sports Centre on the Lake, you can also fish for sole, eel and sea bream, for which there will be a fee to pay for hiring of equipment.

Horse riding

For the Equestrians, at nearby Pinetrees Riding School they cater for all levels of riding, with qualified instructors taking individual or group lessons.

Beauty therapy

There are several Beauty Salons in and around Quinta do Lago and Vilamoura, providing a wide range of treatments and massages enabling you to pamper yourself from top to toe.

Cycling

The relatively flat and safe roads around Quinta do Lago and Vilamoura make them ideal places to try out your cycling skills. Cycle hire is available in lots of places, with all the necessary protective clothing and insurance you need for a trip on two wheels.

Tennis

Should your tennis skills need testing further than the on-site court, there is the Jim Stewart Tennis Centre at the 4th roundabout in Quinta do Lago and this caters for players of all levels and ages. There are also excellent tennis facilities in both Vilamoura and Vale do Lobo.

Eating out and nightlife

Fine wining and dining is essential on holiday and Quinta do Lago, Vilamoura and Vale do Lobo are surrounded by excellent restaurants with a varied range of cuisine to suit all tastes, some even boasting Michelin stars. Once your meal is over, you can party into the night at one of the areas several nightclubs.

Sailing and watersports

Apart from sunbathing, the beaches can be energetic places, with many of them providing pedalos, waterskiing and sailing facilities. At the Watersports Centre at the lake in Quinta do Lago, you can learn to sail, windsurf or canoe under the guidance of qualified instructors. If you want to be more adventurous, you can go jet-skiing, waterskiing or parasailing on the beach or for a spin in a motorboat.
